About Us
The mandate of the Eastern Caribbean Institute of Banking and Financial Services (ECIB) is to promote and advance the banking profession and matters of interest to staff of financial institutions by providing professional development courses for persons employed in the financial sector. ECIB works closely with commercial banks, insurance companies, credit unions and other financial sector enterprises to design and develop productivity and performance improvement training.
The Institute’s training initiatives are aimed at developing knowledge capabilities and human capital accumulation to support high performance in the financial services sector.
To stay competitive in the increasingly volatile, competitive and risky market place, organizations must respond rapidly to the changing demands of customers, trading partners and regulatory and compliance authorities. Effective employee training and development must produce increased knowledge and an expanded set of skills, allowing for more flexibility and agility thereby ensuring that the enterprise is positioned to quickly adapt to changes in the business environment. Continuous staff training and development must therefore become an essential element of a business-enterprise competitiveness strategy.
The Institute’s focus is to partner with individuals and enterprises in becoming the preferred provider of Human Resource Training for the Banking and Financial Services Sector. Its programming matrix is based on helping to develop competencies in the following four areas:
BUSINESS BASICS (The World of Work)
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT (Promotability)
PROFESSIONAL AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT (Professionalism)
LEADERSHIP AND CORPORATE GOVERNANCE (Sustainability)
ECIB’s training workshops are designed to provide participants with effective and practical tools that will enhance and improve their skills and on the job performance.
